Biking is an inexpensive and healthy alternative to driving and a great way to get around campus. The city of Minneapolis is ranked as one of the best biking city in the country by Bike Score, it is #3 biking city by Bicycling Magazine (2014), and the #2 bicycling commuting city by the U.S. Census Bureau (2014).
Step 1: Review Minneapolis Bicycle Laws and Ordinances. Familiarize yourself with the rules of the road before you venture out.
Step 3: Safety! Remember to wear a helmet and have proper reflective gear and lights, if biking at night. Make sure to always lock your bike when you get to your destination. Reference the Gopher Way System map above for exact locations.
If you don't own a bike but are interested in using one, Minneapolis has a bike share program. Check out this map to see where you can quickly rent a bike for as little as $2 (that's way less than a cup of coffee).
