Updated: Mar 4, 2020

Biking is an inexpensive and healthy alternative to driving and a great way to get around campus. The city of Minneapolis is ranked as one of the best biking city in the country by Bike Score, it is #3 biking city by Bicycling Magazine (2014), and the #2 bicycling commuting city by the U.S. Census Bureau (2014).

Step 1: Review Minneapolis Bicycle Laws and Ordinances. Familiarize yourself with the rules of the road before you venture out.

Step 2: Check out a map of the Gopher Way System Streets are clearly marked with bike lanes as well. Plan your route ahead of time!

Step 3: Safety! Remember to wear a helmet and have proper reflective gear and lights, if biking at night. Make sure to always lock your bike when you get to your destination.
